Services
What we do for Whitehead and what it costs
The eight core services below each have a page for Whitehead; specialist and advisory services are delivered nationally and are listed further down. Every fee is fixed and confirmed in writing before work starts.
Why IGI
Working with Whitehead businesses
We built the service around what business owners in places like Whitehead actually complain about: not knowing what the accountant will charge, finding out about a deadline after it has passed, and receiving a set of accounts with no explanation. Each is fixed by design: fixed fees, deadline tracking shown on every page, and a plain-English summary with every draft for Whitehead clients.
Approval before filing is a rule, not a courtesy. For self assessment tax returns in Whitehead, every submission to HMRC or Companies House follows your written go-ahead.
The output for Whitehead clients is never just a form. It is the form, a one-page summary of what it says, and a note of the decisions it points to for self assessment tax returns.
A named person handles your self assessment tax returns from Whitehead and knows the file, so you are not re-explaining your business to a different helpdesk each time.

About Whitehead
Whitehead sits in Northern Ireland, postcode district BT38. Tax for Northern Ireland businesses and individuals matches the rest of the UK in almost every respect: UK income tax bands, UK National Insurance, UK Corporation Tax, Stamp Duty Land Tax. The exception is VAT on goods, where the Windsor Framework arrangements for trade with the Republic of Ireland and the EU create specific rules that online sellers and distributors need handled correctly.

Worth knowing
Rules that affect most businesses here
Crypto records and reporting
Most crypto holders have taxable events they do not recognise, because every swap is a disposal even when no pounds change hands. The computation requires the complete transaction history from every exchange and wallet, pooled by asset with HMRC's matching rules applied. Exchange-generated tax reports are frequently wrong because they cannot see transfers between a user's own wallets.
The trading and property allowances
Small side incomes are covered by two £1,000 allowances, one for trading and one for property, which remove the need to register or report income below that level. Once income exceeds £1,000, the allowance can be used in place of expenses, a choice worth making deliberately: a freelancer with £900 of costs is better off with the allowance, one with £3,000 is not.
Dormant companies
Companies formed to protect a name or hold a future business are dormant but not exempt: Companies House still expects dormant accounts within nine months of the year end and a confirmation statement annually with its £50 fee, and HMRC must be told the company is dormant or it will demand Corporation Tax returns. The filings are short, but the penalties for missing them are the same as for a trading company.
Workplace pensions and auto-enrolment
Auto-enrolment duties begin the day you take on your first employee, not when the Pensions Regulator writes to you. Eligible staff must be enrolled, contributions paid every pay period and re-enrolment carried out every three years. Director-only companies without employment contracts are usually exempt. Fines for non-compliance are fixed and escalating.
Employer National Insurance
Since April 2025 employer National Insurance has been 15% on earnings above a £5,000 secondary threshold, a substantial increase for small employers. The Employment Allowance rose to £10,500 at the same time to soften it for the smallest businesses. Directors deciding their own salary weigh this cost against the Corporation Tax deduction a salary provides.
Questions
Questions from Whitehead
Do you work with businesses in Northern Ireland that are not in Whitehead itself?
Yes. Every place in Northern Ireland has its own page on this site and the same fees apply throughout. The nearest-places list on this page links to them. Wherever in Northern Ireland your business is based, the service is identical because none of it depends on where you are.
What if my Whitehead business is a partnership or an LLP?
Both are covered. Partnerships need a partnership return and a Self Assessment for each partner; LLPs file accounts with Companies House under company-style rules as well. We quote a fixed fee for the set based on the number of partners or members, and the process is the same as for any other client in Whitehead: records in, draft out, approve, filed.
Are your fees inclusive of everything?
Our fee covers the work described for the package. Companies House fees, such as £100 to incorporate or £50 for a confirmation statement, are charged separately and passed on at cost. Software subscriptions are in your own name. There is nothing else: no hourly extras, no charge for questions, and no additional year-end invoice for Whitehead clients on monthly packages.
How quickly do you respond?
In UK working hours, usually within a few hours and always the same working day. Each Whitehead client has a named contact who knows the file. Outside working hours, WhatsApp and email messages are picked up first thing the next morning. In January and at other peak times we tell you your turnaround when you book rather than leaving you guessing.
Is self assessment tax returns in Whitehead really the same price as elsewhere?
Yes. The fee published on this page is what a client in Whitehead pays and what a client in any other part of Northern Ireland pays. It is confirmed in writing before work starts and the invoice matches the quote. Where a higher package applies because your situation is more complex, we say so at the quote stage, never afterwards.
Do you have an office in Whitehead?
No. IGI Accounting is an online-only firm. We serve Whitehead and every other UK postcode remotely, with records sent by WhatsApp or email and everything filed electronically. The absence of local premises is why the fee for self assessment tax returns is the same in Whitehead as anywhere else in the country, and why there is nothing to visit and nothing to print.
