Terms of business

Last updated 3 November 2026

1. Who you are contracting with

These terms apply to all services provided by IGI Security Services Ltd, trading as IGI Accounting, company number 15881180, registered office 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 4944a, London W1T 2EW. They form part of every engagement together with the written fee confirmation we send you before work begins. If anything in a fee confirmation conflicts with these terms, the fee confirmation applies.

2. Scope of each engagement

Each piece of work is described in the fee confirmation: the service, the package, the period it covers and the fee. Work outside that description is not included and is quoted separately before it starts. We do not provide audit services, regulated financial advice, legal advice or insolvency services. Where a matter needs a solicitor, a regulated financial adviser or a licensed insolvency practitioner we will say so.

3. Fees

Our fees are fixed for the work described and are confirmed in writing before any work starts. A fixed fee does not change because the work takes longer than we expected. If your circumstances turn out to be materially different from what you told us, so that a different package applies, we will tell you before continuing and agree the revised fee in writing. Companies House fees, HMRC charges and third-party software subscriptions are not part of our fee and are stated separately. Fees for one-off work are payable on approval of the draft and before filing. Monthly fees are payable monthly in advance. Where a fee is unpaid for more than 30 days we may suspend work and charge statutory interest.

4. Approval before filing

Nothing is submitted to HMRC, Companies House or any other body until you have reviewed the draft and approved it in writing, which includes approval by WhatsApp or email. By approving a draft you confirm that the information in it is complete and accurate to the best of your knowledge. Once filed, a submission can only be corrected by amendment, which may carry a further fee.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for providing complete, accurate and timely information and records, for telling us about anything that may affect your tax or filing position, for keeping the records the law requires, for paying tax and other liabilities by the due dates, and for reading what we send you. Filing deadlines are statutory and fall on you as the taxpayer or company; we will meet them where we have received complete records and your approval in reasonable time before the date, and we will tell you promptly if that is not possible.

6. Our responsibilities

We will carry out each engagement with reasonable skill and care, keep your information confidential, tell you promptly of anything we discover that affects your position, explain the figures in plain English, and keep you informed of the deadlines that apply to the work. We will act as your agent with HMRC and Companies House where you authorise us to.

7. Confidentiality and data

Information you give us is confidential and used only to provide the services, except where disclosure is required by law, including anti-money-laundering legislation, or with your consent. Our privacy policy sets out how we handle personal data.

8. Anti-money-laundering

We are required by law to verify the identity of clients and, for companies, of directors and beneficial owners, and to report suspicious activity to the National Crime Agency without informing the client. We may decline or cease to act where verification cannot be completed.

9. Liability

We are liable for loss caused by our negligence or breach of these terms. We are not liable for loss arising from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us, from your failure to act on our advice or meet a deadline where we have given reasonable notice, or from decisions of HMRC, Companies House or a tribunal that are not caused by our error. Our total liability under any engagement is limited to five times the fee for that engagement, except that nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything that cannot lawfully be limited. We carry professional indemnity insurance.

10. Ending an engagement

Either of us may end a monthly engagement with one month's written notice. One-off engagements end when the work is filed or if either of us ends it in writing beforehand, in which case our refunds policy applies. On ending, we return your records, provide professional clearance to a new adviser and keep copies for the periods the law requires.

11. Complaints

Our complaints procedure explains how to raise a concern and how we respond.

12. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If any part is unenforceable the rest remains in force. We may update these terms; the version in force is the one dated at the top of this page and the one sent with your fee confirmation.
