Bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and Making Tax Digital

Monthly bookkeeping from £49, VAT returns from £35, payroll from £25 and MTD setup, all fixed-fee and online for every UK business.

Everything in this group happens during the year rather than after it. Bookkeeping keeps the records current, VAT returns go in every quarter, payroll runs every pay period, and Making Tax Digital is the HMRC programme that is steadily turning all of it into quarterly digital submissions. Businesses that keep on top of this work find year-end accounts quick and cheap; those that do not find January painful.

Our fees are monthly and fixed, scaled by volume rather than by the hour: the number of bank transactions for bookkeeping, the number of people on the payroll, and whether VAT sits on top of bookkeeping we already do. Bundles are cheaper than separate services because the data is already in our hands.

All of it runs online. Bank feeds connect to cloud software, receipts are photographed and matched, VAT returns are reviewed and submitted through MTD-compatible software, and payslips are sent electronically with RTI submissions to HMRC on or before pay day. You see the position at any time and nothing is submitted without your approval.

Questions

Questions about bookkeeping, vat & payroll

Do I need bookkeeping if I only have a few transactions?

If you have under 50 bank transactions a month the £49 package covers it and still saves most people time at year end, because the accounts are then prepared from clean records at the lower fee. Very small sole traders sometimes manage with a spreadsheet; we will say so honestly if that is you.

Which software do you use?

We work in the major MTD-compatible cloud platforms and set up the one that suits your business and budget. Software subscriptions are billed to you directly so you own the data, and we include setup in the accounting software service at £99.

When does Making Tax Digital affect me?

VAT-registered businesses are already in MTD. Sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000 joined MTD for Income Tax in April 2026, with the £30,000 threshold following in April 2027 and £20,000 planned for April 2028. We check your position and set you up as part of the bookkeeping service.

Not sure which service you need?
