How it works
Four steps, no appointments, nothing printed
The process is the same for a first tax return and for a company with staff, stock and VAT. You tell us what you need, we tell you the fee, you send what you have, and we file once you have approved it.
Tell us your situation
A short message or call about what you do and what needs filing. We ask the questions that determine the right package and nothing more.
Fixed fee in writing
You receive one price for the work, confirmed by email before anything starts. It does not change if the job takes longer than we expected.
Send records, review the draft
Records come by WhatsApp or email. We prepare the draft, explain the figures in plain English and answer your questions.
We file, you get the receipts
Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.
Sending records
Whatever you have, however you have it
- Bank statements as PDFs downloaded from online banking, or a read-only feed into cloud software
- Receipts and invoices photographed on your phone and sent by WhatsApp, or forwarded by email
- Spreadsheets, exports from your current software, or a login to it
- P60s, P45s, dividend vouchers, pension statements, HMRC letters and agent statements as photos or PDFs
- Previous accounts and tax returns if another accountant prepared them, or we request them from the previous firm
- For crypto, full transaction exports from every exchange and wallet you have used
The draft
What you see before anything is filed
Every piece of work comes back to you as a draft with three things: the document itself (the return, the accounts, the Companies House form), a one-page summary in plain English saying what it shows and what it means for you, and a note of anything you need to decide or do. You read it, ask whatever you want to ask, and tell us to file. Nothing goes to HMRC or Companies House before that.
After filing, you receive the acknowledgement from HMRC or Companies House, usually within minutes, together with a copy of the filing, payment details with the reference and due date where tax is owed, and a calendar of the next deadlines for your business.
Questions
Questions about the process
How long does the whole process take?
A straightforward Self Assessment is usually drafted within five working days of complete records and filed the day you approve. Company accounts take two to three weeks from complete records. Companies House filings such as a confirmation statement are usually done the same day. In January and at other peaks we tell you your turnaround when you book.
What if I do not have all my records?
Send what you have. Within two working days we confirm what we have received and list exactly what is missing, with suggestions for where to find it. Bank statements can be downloaded as PDFs, receipts can be photographed, and software exports are fine. Nobody needs to post anything.
When do I pay?
For one-off work the fee is invoiced when you approve the draft, before filing. For monthly packages the fee is collected monthly by direct debit or card. Companies House fees are invoiced with our fee and passed on at cost. There is no deposit and no hourly top-up.
Can I ask questions during the work?
Yes, as many as you like, by WhatsApp or email, at no extra charge. The named person handling your file answers in UK working hours, usually within a few hours. Questions that turn into a separate piece of work, such as a tax planning review, are quoted as a fixed fee before we start.
What happens after filing?
You receive the submission receipt from HMRC or Companies House, a copy of what was filed, a plain-English summary and any payment details with the reference and date. The next deadlines for your business are diarised and we remind you before each one.
Start with one message
A sentence about your business and what needs doing is enough. We reply with the fee in writing.
