Accessibility
Last updated 3 November 2026
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, voice control or other assistive technology, and people with cognitive, motor or visual impairments. This statement explains the standard we aim for, what we have done to meet it, where we know we fall short and how to tell us about anything we have missed.
The standard
We aim for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. We are a private company and are not subject to the Public Sector Bodies Accessibility Regulations, but we have chosen to work to the same standard that applies to public bodies.
What we have done
- Every page has a logical heading structure, with one main heading and sections introduced by subheadings in order.
- Text and background colours meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
- All interactive elements, including the navigation menu, expandable questions and calculator forms, can be operated with a keyboard, and the focus is visible.
- The site uses no images that carry information; the only images are decorative or the logo, which has a text alternative.
- Links describe their destination. We avoid "click here".
- Pages work at 200% zoom and on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling, and text can be resized in the browser.
- The site does not use motion, animation or auto-playing media.
- Forms in the calculators have visible labels associated with each field, and results are announced to assistive technology when they change.
- The site is built from plain HTML and CSS with minimal scripting, so it works with scripting disabled apart from the calculators.
- A "skip to content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
Known limitations
- Some tables on service and place pages are wide and may require horizontal scrolling within the table at very small screen sizes or high zoom.
- The expandable question-and-answer sections rely on the browser's native disclosure element; in a small number of older browsers the open and closed state may not be announced.
- Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; if they fail to load, the site falls back to your system font, which may slightly change spacing.
- PDF documents we send to clients as part of our service are produced by third-party software and may not all be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need a document in a different format, ask and we will provide it.
Getting information in another format
If you cannot access something on this site, or you need information from it in a different format such as large print, plain text or a telephone explanation, email info@igiaccounting.co.uk or message us on WhatsApp and we will provide it within five working days.
Reporting a problem
If you find a page that is difficult to use, a contrast problem, a form that does not work with your assistive technology or anything else, please tell us at info@igiaccounting.co.uk. Say which page, what the problem is and, if you can, which browser and assistive technology you were using. We respond within five working days and aim to fix genuine accessibility defects within 20 working days.
Enforcement
As a private company we are not within the remit of the Equality and Human Rights Commission's enforcement of the public sector accessibility regulations, but the Equality Act 2010 requires us not to discriminate in the services we provide. If you believe we have failed in that duty and you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service.
How this statement was prepared
This statement was prepared on 3 November 2026 based on testing with keyboard navigation, screen reader software and automated accessibility checks across the main page types of the site. It will be reviewed when the site changes materially and at least annually.
