Services

What we do for Stanton Wick and what it costs

The eight core services below each have a page for Stanton Wick; specialist and advisory services are delivered nationally and are listed further down. Every fee is fixed and confirmed in writing before work starts.

Why IGI

Working with Stanton Wick businesses

We built the service around what business owners in places like Stanton Wick actually complain about: not knowing what the accountant will charge, finding out about a deadline after it has passed, and receiving a set of accounts with no explanation. Each is fixed by design: fixed fees, deadline tracking shown on every page, and a plain-English summary with every draft for Stanton Wick clients.

The price for self assessment tax returns is published on this page and is what a client in Stanton Wick pays. We confirm it in writing first, and the invoice matches the quote.

Deadline-first: the dates that matter for self assessment tax returns are shown at the top of this page, diarised for every Stanton Wick client and chased before they arrive.

No appointments, no travel across South West, no parking. Everything for self assessment tax returns in Stanton Wick happens online, with a real person on the other end during UK working hours.

Worth knowing

Rules that affect most businesses here

Confirmation statements and identity verification

Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once a year, within fourteen days of its review date, with a £50 Companies House fee. Since November 2025 directors and people with significant control must also verify their identity with Companies House, and the confirmation statement is where existing officers confirm they have done so during the transition year.

CIS deductions

Under the Construction Industry Scheme, contractors deduct 20% from a registered subcontractor's labour invoices, or 30% if unregistered, and pay it to HMRC. The subcontractor reclaims the deductions against their actual tax through Self Assessment, usually producing a refund because deductions are on turnover while tax is on profit. Contractors file a monthly return by the 19th.

Late filing penalties

Penalties are the clearest reason to work to deadlines. A Self Assessment return one day late costs £100 regardless of whether any tax is due; three months late adds £10 a day. Late company accounts start at £150 and reach £1,500, and double if the previous year was also late. None of this is negotiable afterwards except through a narrow reasonable-excuse appeal.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax began in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, extends to those over £30,000 in April 2027 and is planned for £20,000 in April 2028. It requires digital records in compatible software and four quarterly updates to HMRC each year, with a final declaration replacing the traditional return. Payment dates are unchanged.

The Self Assessment calendar

Four dates govern Self Assessment: 5 October to register, 31 October for paper returns, 31 January to file online and pay, and 31 July for the second payment on account. Missing the January date triggers an automatic £100 penalty before any tax is even considered, so we treat it as the fixed point around which the rest of the year is planned.

Questions

Questions from Stanton Wick

Can you deal with HMRC and Companies House for me?

Yes. Once you authorise us as your agent, HMRC and Companies House correspond with us about the filings we make for your Stanton Wick business, and we can see your accounts and respond on your behalf. Authorisation is free and takes a few days to activate. Routine correspondence about work we have filed is handled at no extra charge.

I already have an accountant in Stanton Wick. How hard is it to switch?

It takes about two weeks and costs nothing extra. You authorise us, we write to your current accountant for professional clearance and your records, and we transfer the agent authorisations. We pick up the next filing without a gap. You do not need to wait for a year end, and we tell you honestly if switching mid-job would be awkward.

What if my Stanton Wick business is a partnership or an LLP?

Both are covered. Partnerships need a partnership return and a Self Assessment for each partner; LLPs file accounts with Companies House under company-style rules as well. We quote a fixed fee for the set based on the number of partners or members, and the process is the same as for any other client in Stanton Wick: records in, draft out, approve, filed.

Do you work with businesses in South West that are not in Stanton Wick itself?

Yes. Every place in South West has its own page on this site and the same fees apply throughout. The nearest-places list on this page links to them. Wherever in England your business is based, the service is identical because none of it depends on where you are.

Do you have an office in Stanton Wick?

No. IGI Accounting is an online-only firm. We serve Stanton Wick and every other UK postcode remotely, with records sent by WhatsApp or email and everything filed electronically. The absence of local premises is why the fee for self assessment tax returns is the same in Stanton Wick as anywhere else in the country, and why there is nothing to visit and nothing to print.

Is self assessment tax returns in Stanton Wick really the same price as elsewhere?

Yes. The fee published on this page is what a client in Stanton Wick pays and what a client in any other part of England pays. It is confirmed in writing before work starts and the invoice matches the quote. Where a higher package applies because your situation is more complex, we say so at the quote stage, never afterwards.
