Tell us your situation
A short message or call about what you do and what needs filing. We ask the questions that determine the right package and nothing more.
Fixed fee in writing
You receive one price for the work, confirmed by email before anything starts. It does not change if the job takes longer than we expected.
Send records, review the draft
Records come by WhatsApp or email. We prepare the draft, explain the figures in plain English and answer your questions.
We file, you get the receipts
Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.
Why IGI
What you get in Ormskirk
No hourly rate and no surprise invoice. Ormskirk clients know the fee for accounting software support before they send a single document, and it stays fixed.
We work to the HMRC and Companies House calendar, not an appointment diary. Clients in Ormskirk get reminders at 60, 30 and 7 days before each date that applies to accounting software support.
Online only, UK based. There is no office in Ormskirk to pay for, which is why the fee is the same here as anywhere in England; the work is done by people in the UK who answer the same day.
Continuity matters in accounting software support: the person who prepared last year's work for your Ormskirk business prepares this year's, and remembers what was agreed.
Plain English, with the numbers. Every draft for Ormskirk comes with a short explanation of what the figures mean and what, if anything, you should do about them.
You stay in control of accounting software support: drafts go to Ormskirk clients first, with the figures explained, and nothing leaves us until you say so.

Worth knowing
Rules that come up in this work
Dormant companies
A dormant company is one with no significant accounting transactions in the year, where the only permitted entries are the payment for shares on incorporation, Companies House fees and penalties. It still files a confirmation statement and simplified dormant accounts every year. A bank charge or an accountant's fee paid from the company ends dormancy and requires full accounts.
The trading and property allowances
Not every small income needs a tax return. The trading allowance exempts the first £1,000 of self-employment or casual income and the property allowance does the same for rental income, each measured on gross receipts. They cannot be combined with rent-a-room relief on the same income, and claiming the allowance means giving up the expense deduction for that source.
Confirmation statements and identity verification
Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once a year, within fourteen days of its review date, with a £50 Companies House fee. Since November 2025 directors and people with significant control must also verify their identity with Companies House, and the confirmation statement is where existing officers confirm they have done so during the transition year.
Employer National Insurance
Employers pay National Insurance at 15% on each employee's earnings above the £5,000 secondary threshold, following the April 2025 changes. The Employment Allowance offsets up to £10,500 of this for eligible employers, which for a small team often removes the liability entirely, but companies where the director is the only employee do not qualify.
CIS deductions
The Construction Industry Scheme affects both sides of a construction payment. Contractors must verify subcontractors, deduct the right amount, issue statements and file monthly, with penalties from £100 for each late return. Subcontractors suffer deductions on turnover and recover the excess at the year end. Limited company subcontractors offset deductions against PAYE monthly instead.
Workplace pensions and auto-enrolment
Workplace pension compliance is part of payroll, not separate from it. Each pay period the payroll assesses who is eligible, calculates employer and employee contributions on qualifying earnings between the lower and upper thresholds, and sends the contribution file to the scheme. The minimum total is 8%, and many employers choose to contribute more as a recruitment advantage.
Record keeping
HMRC requires records of all income and expenses, bank statements, invoices and receipts to be kept for at least five years after the 31 January filing deadline of the tax year they relate to, and companies must keep records for six years from the end of the accounting period. Digital copies are acceptable. Under Making Tax Digital the records must be kept in compatible software.
Questions
Accounting Software Support questions from Ormskirk
Can you fix VAT returns that were filed from the software wrongly?
Yes. We reconcile each filed return to the transactions, identify the errors, and correct them in the software and, where required, with HMRC through the next return or a formal error correction. The cleanup fee covers the software work; any HMRC correction is quoted separately before we start.
What if I want to do my own bookkeeping after setup?
That is exactly what the setup and training are for. Many clients keep their own books in the software we set up and come to us only for the year-end accounts and tax return, which is cheaper for them. We configure bank rules and automations so the routine work is mostly matching, not typing.
How long does setup or migration take?
A new setup is usually complete within three working days of receiving your details and last accounts. A migration takes one to two weeks depending on the volume of history and the state of the old data. A cleanup depends on how broken the file is, and we give you a timeline with the fixed quote.
Do I need Making Tax Digital-compatible software?
If you are VAT registered, yes, already. If you are a sole trader or landlord with qualifying income over £50,000, yes, since April 2026, with lower thresholds following. Every platform we set up is MTD-compatible and we authorise it with HMRC as part of the setup.
Who pays for the software subscription?
You do, directly to the software company, so that the data is yours and you can change accountant without losing it. Subscriptions range from a few pounds a month for basic sole trader tools to around £35 for the fuller platforms. We will tell you if a cheaper tier is sufficient.
Do you provide training?
Yes. The £89 session is 90 minutes by video call, recorded for you to replay, covering the tasks you actually do: raising invoices, capturing receipts, matching bank transactions, running the VAT return, reading the reports. A written quick-reference follows. Several staff can attend the same session.
Which deadlines matter most for accounting software support?
The next four dates that apply to accounting software support are shown at the top of this page, calculated from today. For Ormskirk clients we diarise every one of them from the day you join and send reminders before each, so the work is done in good time rather than in the last week before a penalty.
