Tell us your situation
A short message or call about what you do and what needs filing. We ask the questions that determine the right package and nothing more.
Fixed fee in writing
You receive one price for the work, confirmed by email before anything starts. It does not change if the job takes longer than we expected.
Send records, review the draft
Records come by WhatsApp or email. We prepare the draft, explain the figures in plain English and answer your questions.
We file, you get the receipts
Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.
Why IGI
Why Armagh businesses file with IGI
No hourly rate and no surprise invoice. Armagh clients know the fee for accounting software support before they send a single document, and it stays fixed.
We work to the HMRC and Companies House calendar, not an appointment diary. Clients in Armagh get reminders at 60, 30 and 7 days before each date that applies to accounting software support.
Online only, UK based. There is no office in Armagh to pay for, which is why the fee is the same here as anywhere in Northern Ireland; the work is done by people in the UK who answer the same day.
Continuity matters in accounting software support: the person who prepared last year's work for your Armagh business prepares this year's, and remembers what was agreed.
We explain accounting software support in the words Armagh business owners use, not in accountant's shorthand, and we show our working so you can check it.
Nothing is filed for Armagh until you have reviewed and approved it. You see the draft, you ask questions, you sign off, then we submit and send you the receipt.

About Armagh
Armagh is in Northern Ireland, in the BT60 postcode district, Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland uses the same income tax, National Insurance and Corporation Tax rates as Great Britain, and companies file with Companies House on the Belfast register. Stamp Duty Land Tax applies to property. For goods, the Windsor Framework means some EU VAT rules apply to trade with the EU, which affects businesses moving goods across the border.

The Self Assessment calendar
Self Assessment runs on a fixed annual cycle. Registration by 5 October following the tax year, online filing and payment by 31 January, and a second instalment on 31 July for those making payments on account. The penalties for lateness are automatic and escalate monthly, which is why we file early and chase approvals well before the window closes.
Payments on account
A common surprise in Self Assessment is the January payment that is far larger than expected. That is the balancing payment for the year just ended plus the first payment on account for the year ahead, which HMRC sets at half of the bill just calculated. We put the figure in your hands months ahead and tell you how to adjust it legitimately when circumstances change.
Late filing penalties
Penalties are the clearest reason to work to deadlines. A Self Assessment return one day late costs £100 regardless of whether any tax is due; three months late adds £10 a day. Late company accounts start at £150 and reach £1,500, and double if the previous year was also late. None of this is negotiable afterwards except through a narrow reasonable-excuse appeal.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
The biggest change to Self Assessment in a generation is Making Tax Digital for Income Tax, now live for higher-earning sole traders and landlords and arriving for the rest in stages. Quarterly updates are due by 7 August, 7 November, 7 February and 7 May, built from digital records. The practical consequence is that spreadsheet-and-shoebox bookkeeping is ending for anyone above the threshold.
The VAT registration threshold
VAT registration is compulsory once taxable turnover in any rolling twelve-month period exceeds £90,000, or when you expect to exceed that in the next thirty days alone. The test is rolling, not by tax year, and includes zero-rated sales. Businesses regularly cross it without noticing, and late registration means accounting for VAT on sales where it was never charged to customers.
Corporation Tax rates and marginal relief
Corporation Tax is not a flat rate. Profits to £50,000 pay 19%, profits above £250,000 pay 25%, and the band between is taxed at an effective marginal rate of 26.5% through the marginal relief mechanism. Associated companies share the thresholds, which catches directors who own more than one company and is the most common cause of underpaid tax in owner-managed groups.
Salary versus dividends
The salary-and-dividend split is the central planning decision for an owner-managed company. Salary costs employer National Insurance above £5,000 but is deductible; dividends are not deductible but attract lower personal rates and no National Insurance. The optimum changes each April with the thresholds and depends on the director's other income, so it should be set deliberately every year.
Questions
Accounting Software Support questions from Armagh
How long does setup or migration take?
A new setup is usually complete within three working days of receiving your details and last accounts. A migration takes one to two weeks depending on the volume of history and the state of the old data. A cleanup depends on how broken the file is, and we give you a timeline with the fixed quote.
Do I need Making Tax Digital-compatible software?
If you are VAT registered, yes, already. If you are a sole trader or landlord with qualifying income over £50,000, yes, since April 2026, with lower thresholds following. Every platform we set up is MTD-compatible and we authorise it with HMRC as part of the setup.
Can you fix VAT returns that were filed from the software wrongly?
Yes. We reconcile each filed return to the transactions, identify the errors, and correct them in the software and, where required, with HMRC through the next return or a formal error correction. The cleanup fee covers the software work; any HMRC correction is quoted separately before we start.
What if I want to do my own bookkeeping after setup?
That is exactly what the setup and training are for. Many clients keep their own books in the software we set up and come to us only for the year-end accounts and tax return, which is cheaper for them. We configure bank rules and automations so the routine work is mostly matching, not typing.
Which software do you recommend?
It depends on your business. Sole traders with simple needs suit the low-cost MTD-compatible platforms; VAT-registered businesses with stock, multiple currencies or e-commerce integrations need one of the major cloud platforms. We recommend on fit and price and we do not take commission, so the advice is not steered by referral income.
What does the £99 setup include?
Creating the file with your business details and financial year, a chart of accounts tailored to your trade, VAT scheme and codes configured, bank and card feeds connected, opening balances entered from your last accounts, invoice template branded, and the software authorised with HMRC for MTD where relevant. You come away ready to use it.
Which deadlines matter most for accounting software support?
The next four dates that apply to accounting software support are shown at the top of this page, calculated from today. For Armagh clients we diarise every one of them from the day you join and send reminders before each, so the work is done in good time rather than in the last week before a penalty.
