How it works

Management Accounts from Wimbledon, step by step

  1. Tell us your situation

A short message or call about what you do and what needs filing. We ask the questions that determine the right package and nothing more.

  2. Fixed fee in writing

You receive one price for the work, confirmed by email before anything starts. It does not change if the job takes longer than we expected.

  3. Send records, review the draft

Records come by WhatsApp or email. We prepare the draft, explain the figures in plain English and answer your questions.

  4. We file, you get the receipts

Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.

Why IGI

The IGI way of working, in Wimbledon

The price for management accounts is published on this page and is what a client in Wimbledon pays. We confirm it in writing first, and the invoice matches the quote.

Deadline-first: the dates that matter for management accounts are shown at the top of this page, diarised for every Wimbledon client and chased before they arrive.

Online only, UK based. There is no office in Wimbledon to pay for, which is why the fee is the same here as anywhere in England; the work is done by people in the UK who answer the same day.

Continuity matters in management accounts: the person who prepared last year's work for your Wimbledon business prepares this year's, and remembers what was agreed.

The output for Wimbledon clients is never just a form. It is the form, a one-page summary of what it says, and a note of the decisions it points to for management accounts.

Approval before filing is a rule, not a courtesy. For management accounts in Wimbledon, every submission to HMRC or Companies House follows your written go-ahead.

Worth knowing

Rules that come up in this work

Confirmation statements and identity verification

Every company must file a confirmation statement at least once a year, within fourteen days of its review date, with a £50 Companies House fee. Since November 2025 directors and people with significant control must also verify their identity with Companies House, and the confirmation statement is where existing officers confirm they have done so during the transition year.

CIS deductions

Under the Construction Industry Scheme, contractors deduct 20% from a registered subcontractor's labour invoices, or 30% if unregistered, and pay it to HMRC. The subcontractor reclaims the deductions against their actual tax through Self Assessment, usually producing a refund because deductions are on turnover while tax is on profit. Contractors file a monthly return by the 19th.

Late filing penalties

Penalties are the clearest reason to work to deadlines. A Self Assessment return one day late costs £100 regardless of whether any tax is due; three months late adds £10 a day. Late company accounts start at £150 and reach £1,500, and double if the previous year was also late. None of this is negotiable afterwards except through a narrow reasonable-excuse appeal.

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax began in April 2026 for sole traders and landlords with qualifying income over £50,000, extends to those over £30,000 in April 2027 and is planned for £20,000 in April 2028. It requires digital records in compatible software and four quarterly updates to HMRC each year, with a final declaration replacing the traditional return. Payment dates are unchanged.

The Self Assessment calendar

Self Assessment runs on a fixed annual cycle. Registration by 5 October following the tax year, online filing and payment by 31 January, and a second instalment on 31 July for those making payments on account. The penalties for lateness are automatic and escalate monthly, which is why we file early and chase approvals well before the window closes.

Payments on account

If your Self Assessment bill exceeds £1,000 and less than 80% of your tax was collected at source, HMRC asks for two advance payments towards the following year, each half of the current bill, due 31 January and 31 July. The first year this happens the January payment is effectively one and a half times the bill. We model it in advance and show you how to reduce the payments if income is falling.

Salary versus dividends

Paying yourself from a company involves two routes with different tax treatment. Salary through payroll is a company expense and builds a National Insurance record; dividends come from post-tax profit at lower personal rates. Undocumented drawings that are neither become director's loans, with a 35.75% section 455 charge if not repaid within nine months of the year end.

Questions

Management Accounts questions from Wimbledon

Can you compare against a budget?

Yes, if you have one. If you do not, we compare against the same period last year and, if you want one, help you build a simple budget as part of the first quarter. Variance against budget is the most useful single comparison in the pack once a budget exists.

What is the review call?

A 30 to 45 minute video call each period in the £199 package to go through the pack, discuss what it shows and what decisions it points to. It is the part clients value most, because numbers on a page do not ask questions and we do.

When does the pack arrive?

On a fixed working day agreed with you, typically the 10th to 15th of the following month for monthly packs, provided the bookkeeping is complete by the 5th. Quarterly packs follow the quarter end on the same basis. If your records arrive late the date moves and we tell you.

Which KPIs do you report?

Those that drive your business, agreed at the start: gross margin by product or service line, revenue per employee, debtor days, stock turn, cash runway, utilisation for a service firm, average order value for a retailer. We recommend a short list and refine it over the first quarter. A dashboard with twenty numbers is one nobody reads.

Do I need bookkeeping with you to have management accounts?

It is simplest if we do the bookkeeping because the figures are current and we know the file, but we can produce management accounts from a well-kept file maintained by you or another bookkeeper. The pack is only as good as the bookkeeping, so if the records are behind we say so first.

What adjustments do you make to the bookkeeping figures?

Accruals for costs incurred but not yet invoiced, prepayments for costs paid in advance, depreciation on fixed assets, stock movements where you hold inventory, and the Corporation Tax charge accruing. Without these the profit figure swings with payment timing and says little about performance.

Which deadlines matter most for management accounts?

The next four dates that apply to management accounts are shown at the top of this page, calculated from today. For Wimbledon clients we diarise every one of them from the day you join and send reminders before each, so the work is done in good time rather than in the last week before a penalty.

Message us on WhatsApp or email with a sentence about your business and what you need. We reply in working hours with any questions and a fixed fee for management accounts.
