We file, you get the receipts
Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.
Why IGI
Why Pheasey businesses file with IGI
No hourly rate and no surprise invoice. Pheasey clients know the fee for corporation tax before they send a single document, and it stays fixed.
We work to the HMRC and Companies House calendar, not an appointment diary. Clients in Pheasey get reminders at 60, 30 and 7 days before each date that applies to corporation tax.
We serve Pheasey remotely by design: records by WhatsApp or email, drafts back for approval, filing electronic. The saving on premises is passed to you in the fee for corporation tax.
A named person handles your corporation tax from Pheasey and knows the file, so you are not re-explaining your business to a different helpdesk each time.
Plain English, with the numbers. Every draft for Pheasey comes with a short explanation of what the figures mean and what, if anything, you should do about them.
You stay in control of corporation tax: drafts go to Pheasey clients first, with the figures explained, and nothing leaves us until you say so.

Rules that come up in this work
Switching accountants
You can switch accountant at any point in the year. The new firm requests clearance and your records from the old one, which cannot withhold your own documents though it may hold its own working papers until its fees are settled. Agent authorisations with HMRC and Companies House are transferred, and the next deadline is picked up without a gap.
Closing a company
Striking off a company is cheap but must be done in order: stop trading, file the final accounts and CT600, pay the tax, close VAT and PAYE, distribute the remaining assets, close the bank account, then apply. Anything left in the company at dissolution passes to the Crown. Distributions up to £25,000 are taxed as capital gains; above that a formal liquidation is usually needed to keep capital treatment.
Late filing penalties
Penalties are the clearest reason to work to deadlines. A Self Assessment return one day late costs £100 regardless of whether any tax is due; three months late adds £10 a day. Late company accounts start at £150 and reach £1,500, and double if the previous year was also late. None of this is negotiable afterwards except through a narrow reasonable-excuse appeal.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax
MTD for Income Tax replaces one annual return with quarterly digital updates and a year-end declaration, submitted from software. The threshold is gross trading and property income, measured two years earlier, and started at £50,000 in April 2026 before falling to £30,000 in April 2027. Anyone affected needs digital record keeping in place before their start date, not after.
The Self Assessment calendar
The tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April. Anyone new to Self Assessment must register by 5 October after the end of the tax year in which their untaxed income began. The online return and the balancing payment are due by 31 January, with a second payment on account on 31 July where they apply. Paper returns have an earlier deadline of 31 October and are rarely sensible.
Crypto records and reporting
Most crypto holders have taxable events they do not recognise, because every swap is a disposal even when no pounds change hands. The computation requires the complete transaction history from every exchange and wallet, pooled by asset with HMRC's matching rules applied. Exchange-generated tax reports are frequently wrong because they cannot see transfers between a user's own wallets.
Payments on account
If your Self Assessment bill exceeds £1,000 and less than 80% of your tax was collected at source, HMRC asks for two advance payments towards the following year, each half of the current bill, due 31 January and 31 July. The first year this happens the January payment is effectively one and a half times the bill. We model it in advance and show you how to reduce the payments if income is falling.
Questions
Corporation Tax questions from Pheasey
Can you deal with HMRC if they open an enquiry into the return?
Yes. As your authorised agent we receive and respond to HMRC correspondence. Routine queries about a return we filed are handled at no extra charge. A formal enquiry is handled through our HMRC investigation service at fixed fees per stage, so you know the cost before deciding how to proceed.
Does R&D affect my Corporation Tax return?
Yes. Research and development relief is claimed on the CT600 and reduces the tax or generates a credit. Since the merged scheme, first-time claimants must notify HMRC within six months of the period end. Our R&D service prepares the technical report and the computation; the claim then goes on the return we file.
What is iXBRL and do I need to worry about it?
HMRC requires the accounts and computation attached to a CT600 to be tagged in iXBRL, a machine-readable format. We produce and validate the tagged files as part of the service. If another firm prepared your accounts we tag their figures; you never deal with it directly.
My CT600 is overdue. What now?
The £279 rescue fee gets it prepared and filed quickly from your accounts. The £100 late penalty is fixed, rising to £200 after three months and then to tax-geared penalties at six and twelve months, so speed matters. If there is a reasonable excuse we draft the appeal as part of the fee.
Are dividends and salary treated differently for Corporation Tax?
Yes. Salary, employer National Insurance and employer pension contributions are deductible expenses that reduce taxable profit. Dividends are paid from profit after tax and are not deductible. This asymmetry is central to the salary-versus-dividend planning we do for directors.
What expenses are not allowed for Corporation Tax?
Business entertainment of customers, most fines and penalties, depreciation (replaced by capital allowances), general provisions, and the private element of mixed-use costs. Legal fees on capital items are also disallowed. The computation adds these back to accounting profit and we list every adjustment so you can see the effect.
Do you have an office in Pheasey?
No. IGI Accounting is an online-only firm. We serve Pheasey and every other UK postcode remotely, with records sent by WhatsApp or email and everything filed electronically. The absence of local premises is why the fee for corporation tax is the same in Pheasey as anywhere else in the country, and why there is nothing to visit and nothing to print.
Is corporation tax in Pheasey really the same price as elsewhere?
Yes. The fee published on this page is what a client in Pheasey pays and what a client in any other part of England pays. It is confirmed in writing before work starts and the invoice matches the quote. Where a higher package applies because your situation is more complex, we say so at the quote stage, never afterwards.
