Tell us your situation
A short message or call about what you do and what needs filing. We ask the questions that determine the right package and nothing more.
Fixed fee in writing
You receive one price for the work, confirmed by email before anything starts. It does not change if the job takes longer than we expected.
Send records, review the draft
Records come by WhatsApp or email. We prepare the draft, explain the figures in plain English and answer your questions.
We file, you get the receipts
Once you approve and the fee is settled, we submit electronically and forward the HMRC or Companies House acknowledgement the same day.
Why IGI
Why Deal businesses file with IGI
No hourly rate and no surprise invoice. Deal clients know the fee for company formation before they send a single document, and it stays fixed.
We work to the HMRC and Companies House calendar, not an appointment diary. Clients in Deal get reminders at 60, 30 and 7 days before each date that applies to company formation.
Online only, UK based. There is no office in Deal to pay for, which is why the fee is the same here as anywhere in England; the work is done by people in the UK who answer the same day.
Continuity matters in company formation: the person who prepared last year's work for your Deal business prepares this year's, and remembers what was agreed.
Plain English, with the numbers. Every draft for Deal comes with a short explanation of what the figures mean and what, if anything, you should do about them.
You stay in control of company formation: drafts go to Deal clients first, with the figures explained, and nothing leaves us until you say so.

Worth knowing
Rules that come up in this work
The VAT registration threshold
The £90,000 VAT threshold is measured over any twelve consecutive months, which is why a strong quarter can tip a business over unexpectedly. Registration must follow within thirty days of the end of the month the threshold was crossed. Below the threshold, voluntary registration is worth considering when customers are VAT-registered businesses and costs carry VAT.
Corporation Tax rates and marginal relief
Companies pay Corporation Tax at 19% on profits up to £50,000 and 25% on profits over £250,000. Between those figures marginal relief applies, producing an effective rate that rises gradually and a marginal rate of 26.5% on each pound in the band. The thresholds are divided by the number of associated companies, so a director with two companies has thresholds of £25,000 and £125,000 for each.
Salary versus dividends
The salary-and-dividend split is the central planning decision for an owner-managed company. Salary costs employer National Insurance above £5,000 but is deductible; dividends are not deductible but attract lower personal rates and no National Insurance. The optimum changes each April with the thresholds and depends on the director's other income, so it should be set deliberately every year.
Director's loan accounts
Money taken from a company has to be something: salary, dividend, expense reimbursement or loan. If it is a loan and remains outstanding nine months after the year end, the company pays tax at the dividend higher rate on it until it is repaid. Clearing the balance with a properly declared dividend before the deadline, where reserves allow, is routine year-end work.
The Self Assessment calendar
The tax year runs from 6 April to 5 April. Anyone new to Self Assessment must register by 5 October after the end of the tax year in which their untaxed income began. The online return and the balancing payment are due by 31 January, with a second payment on account on 31 July where they apply. Paper returns have an earlier deadline of 31 October and are rarely sensible.
Payments on account
If your Self Assessment bill exceeds £1,000 and less than 80% of your tax was collected at source, HMRC asks for two advance payments towards the following year, each half of the current bill, due 31 January and 31 July. The first year this happens the January payment is effectively one and a half times the bill. We model it in advance and show you how to reduce the payments if income is falling.
Late filing penalties
Penalties are the clearest reason to work to deadlines. A Self Assessment return one day late costs £100 regardless of whether any tax is due; three months late adds £10 a day. Late company accounts start at £150 and reach £1,500, and double if the previous year was also late. None of this is negotiable afterwards except through a narrow reasonable-excuse appeal.
Questions
Company Formation questions from Deal
What share structure should I have?
For a single founder, one ordinary share of £1 is usual. For two or more, the split should reflect the agreed ownership and may use different share classes to allow different dividend payments. We discuss this before filing, because changing it later needs resolutions and filings. We also advise on whether a shareholders' agreement is worth having.
What is a SIC code and which one do I need?
The Standard Industrial Classification code describes what the company does and appears on the public register. You can have up to four. We pick the right ones from the official list for your trade. Changing them later is done through the confirmation statement, which is our £39 SIC change service.
Does the company need to register for Corporation Tax?
Yes, within three months of starting to trade. HMRC usually issues the company's Unique Taxpayer Reference by post shortly after incorporation. Registration for Corporation Tax is included in our £99 package and above; the formation-only package leaves it to you, and we tell you how.
When should I register for VAT and PAYE?
VAT when taxable turnover will exceed £90,000 in a rolling 12 months, or voluntarily before if it helps. PAYE before the first salary payment, including to yourself as director. Both are included in the £99 package or available separately at £49 each.
What does it cost in total?
Our formation-only fee is £49, plus the Companies House incorporation fee of £100 which we pass on at cost and show separately. So a basic formation is £149 all in. The £99 package adds Corporation Tax and PAYE registration, £149 adds a year's registered office, and the £199 startup pack includes registrations and bookkeeping setup.
How long does incorporation take?
Companies House usually approves online incorporations within 24 hours, often the same working day. We need your chosen name, the registered office address, details of each director and shareholder with their identity verification, the share structure and your SIC code. Most clients give us everything in one conversation.
How do I get started from Deal?
Message us on WhatsApp or email with a sentence about your business and what you need. We reply in working hours with any questions and a fixed fee for company formation. Once you confirm, we tell you exactly which records to send and the work begins. Most Deal clients are set up within a day.
Do you have an office in Deal?
No. IGI Accounting is an online-only firm. We serve Deal and every other UK postcode remotely, with records sent by WhatsApp or email and everything filed electronically. The absence of local premises is why the fee for company formation is the same in Deal as anywhere else in the country, and why there is nothing to visit and nothing to print.
