Who we are
IGI Accounting (“IGI”, “we”, “us”) is a trading name of IGI Security Services Ltd (No. 15881180), registered office 60 Tottenham Court Road, Suite 4944a, London W1T 2EW. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any questions, email info@igiaccounting.co.uk.
What information we collect
We collect information you give us and information we generate while providing our services, including:
- Identity & contact data — name, business name, email, phone, address.
- Financial & accounting data — the records you share so we can prepare accounts, tax returns, VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Identity-verification data — documents we need for anti-money-laundering (AML) checks we are legally required to perform.
- Usage data — how you interact with our website, collected via cookies and analytics (see our Cookies Policy).
How we use your information
We use your personal data to provide our accountancy services, prepare and file your returns, run your payroll, communicate with you, meet our legal and regulatory duties (including AML and HMRC requirements), take payment, and improve our website. We never sell your personal data.
Our legal bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on: contract (to deliver the services you engage us for); legal obligation (AML, tax and company law); legitimate interests (running and improving our practice, fraud prevention); and consent (for optional marketing, which you can withdraw at any time).
Who we share it with
We share data only where necessary: with HMRC and Companies House to file on your behalf; with our HMRC-recognised software providers; with payment processors; with our regulators and professional bodies; and with trusted suppliers acting on our instructions under data-processing agreements. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep client records for at least six years after our engagement ends, to meet HMRC, company-law and professional-body requirements, after which we securely delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any right, email info@igiaccounting.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to help first.
Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and HMRC-recognised, ISO-aligned software. While no system is ever completely secure, we take the protection of your information extremely seriously.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with the date it was last updated.
